Mark Corcoran — Remedial Massage Therapist, Tweed Heads

Meet Mark Corcoran — Remedial Massage Therapist, Tweed Heads and Founder of Truly Wholistic

At Truly Wholistic, we combine science and spirituality to treat the whole you — looking at your environment, history, movement and emotions to address not just the symptom, but the root cause. Our approach treats mind, body and spirit together, because lasting recovery requires all three.

Mark's treatment style is a blend of remedial massage, osteopathic principles and energy work. With over 15 years of experience working with international sporting teams, sports medicine clinics, health retreats, and everyday clients across Tweed Heads, Coolangatta, Kirra, Bilinga, and the Gold Coast–Tweed region, Mark has an ability to find the root cause of your issues — rather than just chasing the pain.

Our clinic is located at 3/18 Bay Street, Tweed Heads NSW 2485 (upstairs in the Carlton building). We use a comprehensive range of evidence-based modalities including remedial massage, deep tissue massage, dry needling, cupping, METs (Muscle Energy Techniques), mobilisation, traction, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release — tailored specifically to you.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Regular or relaxation massage is designed for general relaxation and stress relief. Remedial massage is a clinical, targeted therapy — Mark begins with a proper assessment of your posture, movement and history, then applies specific techniques to address the root cause of pain, not just relax the muscles.
Remedial massage is a clinical, targeted therapy focused on the physical body — muscles, joints and movement. Wholistic massage includes all of that, plus energy work, breathwork and visualization to treat mind, body and spirit together.
Every remedial massage starts with an assessment of your posture and health history, followed by a combination of deep tissue work, trigger point therapy, mobilisation and myofascial release — tailored to what your body actually needs.
Wholistic Massage sessions run for 90 or 120 minutes, giving enough time for the full assessment, treatment and integration that makes the wholistic approach effective.
Yes — massage has been shown to support the body's natural stress response, including lowering cortisol levels. Our Wholistic Massage sessions specifically incorporate binaural beats and vagus nerve stimulation techniques to help regulate the nervous system and deepen this effect.
There's no single "healthiest" massage — it depends on what your body needs. Chronic pain or injury often responds best to remedial massage, while stress and nervous system regulation benefit more from wholistic massage. Mark assesses your specific needs before recommending a treatment.
The main types include remedial massage (clinical, targeted therapy), wholistic massage (combining physical treatment with energy work), sports massage (recovery-focused for athletes), and specialised techniques like cupping and dry needling. We offer all of these at our Tweed Heads clinic.
Yes. "Massage therapist" refers to a trained, qualified professional who has completed formal study in remedial or clinical massage techniques. Mark is a qualified remedial massage therapist with 15+ years of clinical experience.
Look for formal qualifications, a proper assessment before treatment begins, and a clinic that's transparent about pricing and modalities. Mark holds recognised qualifications and begins every first appointment with a thorough case history and postural assessment.
Yes. Mark works with athletes at all levels — surfers, runners, cyclists and gym-goers — to accelerate recovery, improve flexibility and reduce injury risk. Sports massage, dry needling and cupping are all available as part of a personalised recovery plan.
